‘There is no better time to shine a light on women feeling empowered’: Meghan hails the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements as she makes her working debut with Kate, William and Harry
Meghan Markle has voiced her support for the #MeToo and #TimesUp campaigns against sexual harassment today as she joined her fiancé and future in-laws in London at their first official engagement as a foursome. Meghan, 36, said women ‘don’t need to find their voice’ but need to be ‘urged to use it’ as she spoke of her excitement to ‘hit the ground running’ when joining the Royal Foundation as a patron after her wedding. Prince Harry revealed how ‘proud and excited’ he was to have Meghan join the family and their charity efforts while William also officially welcomed her into the fold to a warm round of applause from Kate.
The brothers were in a cheeky mood at the forum, joking about starting their successful mental health campaign Heads Together ‘on the back of a fag packet’ while revealing they often have ‘disagreements’ as a family but are ‘stuck together for the rest of their lives’. It is the first time the foursome have been pictured together since they attended a Christmas Day church service in Norfolk with the majority of the Royal Family.
